Being Given represents one of the artist’s earliest explorations in painting, a foundational series in which she began observing and rendering the world around her. Drawing inspiration from friends, family, and the ordinary details of daily life, the works capture moments of quiet intimacy and simplicity. Through careful observation and subtle expression, the series reflects both the ordinariness and the inherent significance of everyday existence, offering a meditation on what is received, shared, and quietly present in the artist’s immediate world.
